Albandeira is east of Carvoeiro and takes about 10 mins by car. See the beaches link on this site. Well worth a visit for the waves and the cliff walks. The hotel mentioned here is on the road to the beach to the right.

By the EN 125:

Leave Faro on the EN 125 in the direction of Portimão. Pass by Alcantarilha, Porches until the International School of the Algarve (+/- 60 Km). At the second traffic lights by the school, it is necessary to do a U turn back in the direction that you came), turn right in the direction of Caramujeira and praia da Marinha. The road will reach a traffic circle where you follow the direction of Albandeira. Follow the road in the direction of the coast (2 Km) until you encounter on the right hand side the Resort.

 This is the nearest beach to our place and is a lovely little beach out of season, gets a bit crowded in the summer, haven't even noticed the hotel before..... It is also a spa. :P

I'd be interested to know if you have to be a resident to use the SPA a website address would be great.

Thanks

Well I don't know about the Spa there but I know a young man who jumps off the cliffs there at Albandeira...as a sport!
Affectionately known as 'Billy the Kid', young Peter of Colombos does this daring deed :)
