Restaurant-what's it called

Post by Victor Meldrew »

I put it down to old age but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the pizzeria/restaurant which is directly opposite the entrance to Rocha Brava and it happens to be one of the few restaurants which we have not been to.

Can anyone help with the name and any experiences they may have had?

Yes I think it must be Rochamar indeed.

Restaurant Rochamar:

Just opposite the entrance to Rocha Brava. Italian/Portuguese cuisine, good varied menu including the traditional chicken Piri Piri. Also pizzas, pasta, fish and much more. Good wine list and friendly atmosphere. Also nice patio area.

Thanks for your replies-as soon as I saw the name I remembered it.

I am surprised there are no reviews of it considering that nearby restaurants,O Farol,Julios and Jardim do Farol have all received coverage.

Any reasons apart from the obvious?

I suspect that there have been no reviews as there is not a lot to say about it.

Pleasant surroundings, friendly staff but that is where it ends.

I am unlikely to go back due to indifferent food and very poor service.

Tom, I totally agree. We had an almost inedible meal there last time . The take away Pizzas are OK though & it is convenient for us RB types.

We have had a meal there, yuck.
The one in Centianes is much better, as is the Tropical (for snacks).

Agree with most of the comments on Rochamar restaurant. Much better pizza's to be had at Bella Napoli near the Tropical Bar.

Tropical Bar is good for snacks and all sky sports channels. :D

Back there in 2007!!

Had a really bad experience two years ago at Bella Napoli. Ordered the lasagne and had to return it as it was obviously bought in bulk frozen. The centre was not cooked - still had ice in it!!

Yes, Tropical Bar is excellent for snacks.

Have been to Bella Napoli on many, many occassions over the years and have always found the food excellent and very good value.

Yes Tom we agree about Bar Tropical that is where we met your son around 5 years ago - Christmas week. A very wet day all round! even the football result was bad! Helder is a very good host in Bar Tropical.

Had the lasagne in November at Bella Napoli and throughly enjoyed it - no ice!

Cannot wait until 24th August when we are back at Rocha Brava :) .
