DVD/VIDEO recorders

Hi

Please can anyone tell me whether my UK video/DVD recorder will work with a Portuguese TV?

Hi Guest,
Our UK DVD/video work fine with the Port TB we "inherited" our house. Just changed the plugs to Port. ones and off we went!

I have been told by someone they had problem ...... no sound obviously you had not problem with this.

UK and Portugal use different signals (PAL-G and PAL-D I think).
If you connect using a Scart or Video lead there should be no problem but if you use the TV aerial then you will run into difficulties with sound unless the TV set 'understands' the DVD encoding.
