I note that the Portuguese government have finally agreed to implement EU directive 38/CE, removing the obligation for EU citizens living and/or working in Portugal to adopt Portuguese residencia.

It will be interesting to see how this affects such things as car imports, voting, health service, pensions, credit facilities etc.

Watch this space !!!

Yes good news but the e-mail I received from AFPOP didnt say when the law will actually come into effect. Wait and see I suppose

If you don't adopt residenca won't that work against you with UK Inheritance taxes?
