WALK - MONDAY 14 APRIL 2025 - OURIQUE BARAGEMS

[Linda and Russell]

Linda & Russell will be leading this walk. We head off into the quiet, remote hills and around a few small baragems. Mostly good tracks but a small section is a bit over grown. It is a hard walk as we have a couple of hills at the beginning and end so about a grade 4.

Meeting Point: Restaurant Ourique. The cafe is closed at the start but please arrive ready to start the walk at 10.00am.

Directions: Drive to Lagoa and turn left on the N125. Drive to the the Portimao/Monchique exit and follow the N124 directions Monchique/Silves. At the roundabouts keep right and follow the signs for Silves. The restaurant is on the right side of the road on a sharp bend before Odelouca. Please park just before the restaurant.

The restaurant will be open for lunch for those who wish to join us for lunch. The set menu does not include drinks so the bill is usually a little more about 16 or 17 euros with a tip.

Usual rules: walk at your own risk, bring a pole if you use one, bring a drink and no charge.

A mall group today, only 6 walkers and 2 dogs but we had a very enjoyable walk amongst the abundance of wild flowers and the small baragems. Some stayed for lunch at the Ourique Restaurant after.
