replacing old paper fiscal number with a card
replacing old paper fiscal number with a card
I have an old original paper version of my fiscal number and wish to replace this with the plastic credit card style. Has anybody been to the Financas and done this recently please and what is needed there in order to save time going back and forth ...
Thank you
Thank you

Don't think they do the cards now. I got one at the start of the year and just got a piece of paper!
Re: replacing old paper fiscal number with a card
I still use the original thin pale brown fiscal card that I was issued with in 1987. I trimmed the edges a little and laminated it. It fits perfectly into my wallet now and will not degrade. I made the "mistake" of getting a GP some years ago and had my plastic cartao do utente withdrawn and replaced with an A4 sheet of paper which needs to be reprinted regularly as it suffers damage from being folded up in my wallet.

The Finanças have not issued cards for years now. You just get a computer print out.

Thanks for the replies.
a lady at PT tried to tell me that my piece of paper version of the fiscal number had expired and I needed a new one. I can't see any expiry date on mine and it does seem improbable that fiscal numbers have end dates and need renewal?

Mine doesn't have an expiry date on, (Plastic Card) , always thought they were forever until you cancel them.
