Girasol

Post by Geoff »

Is being in Parchal allowable on the forum?

This is owned by the guy who used to run Palmeira in Estombar. It's not at all pretentious, just typical Portuguese : when we were there in November, we were the only English with over a dozen locals.

Food is simple grills , but freshly cooked. Standard menu for 7.5€ , lunch or dinner , is :
Soup....usually a good hot vegetable one
Grill....pork, dorada, chicken, beef...
Dessert....chocolate biscuit cake, choc mousse, fresh fruit salad....
Coffee
0.5 litre wine and water and bread and olives and sardine paste

Better value than Escondidinho's, not so crowded...but no port/brandy!

Try it.

Churrasquiera Brenda, round the back of the block, isn't bad either : same price, but no pudding.
