Bar TV in town
So what are the bars showing at the moment - any sport on or all the Sky networks defunct?

Re: Bar TV in town
I thought everybody knew this....
The only channels NOT available are the British terrestrials....BBC, ITV, Ch4, Ch5.
Currently is is my understanding that all the bars still carry SKY Sports.

Re: Bar TV in town
That's the problem - " my understanding" - another CVO property owner asked me "If they are still getting Sky sports - which is broadcast on the Skysat 28.5 sat unit, and part of the Sky package also includes BBC1 etc - can they still get BBC1 etc now ? " I thought not but I wanted to know from someone who had actually been in and checked.
So I shall rephrase the question - Has anyone been into a bar which is showing Skysports and have they asked if they can get BBC1 etc?

Re: Bar TV in town
The bars are still getting Sky sports and BT sports but not the terrestrial channels
Re: Bar TV in town
I was in town last week and Bar72 and Hemingways both had the Cheltenham festival on. That was on C4 so I assume they can get the other channels as well,

Re: Bar TV in town
Not necessarily - there is an available feed of a C4 signal provided for the Irish market with specific local advertising but getting that does not mean you get BBC/ITV as well - a completely separate thing - look at the webpage called "skyinmadrid" and the info is there for resetting to get the Irish version of C4.

Re: Bar TV in town
They would have got them via an internet feed
Re: Bar TV in town
Any bar with an internet connection can invest in one of the many solutions to stream the UK TV channels onto their TVs.
Re: Bar TV in town
Could be fun in the summer when they have a full bar some wanting to watch TV and others wanting to use the wifi.
Tv buffering at the critical moments or wifi slooooow !!.

If folks are watching the World Cup then presumably the bars can show via Portuguese TV which should have good reception and not via the internet?EMM wrote:Could be fun in the summer when they have a full bar some wanting to watch TV and others wanting to use the wifi.
