The channel switching and sat replacement program has not finished yet,

I can remember the same sort of sceptism over 2 years ago when the current changes were mooted.
It will not happen, would not affect BBC etc on Sky and so on.
Look where we are now.
One thing is certain and that is nothing is certain.

Are they still showing 'Sky' football and do you know what contingency they have or are planning?

Do you know when 'switch-off' day is?

Scrabble, Monopoly, charades, chess. Going out for a drink or a nice meal. Highly practical solutions IMHO.

Channel 4 is back .On your sky remote, press 'services' - set up, 'add channels' change frequency to 12.480.
Yellow button to tick channels. You will see Channel 4, E4 etc. then press select to save.
Whenever you want to watch any of them press services - other channels and select channel.
Note. You must have an active sky card in your box
Also itv 2,3,4 are also available to Sky HD subscribers on Sky HD boxes. :D

I have tried what you suggested, but getting to Add Channels was unable to change freq from 11.778 to 12.480 as instructed
What am I doing wrong??

Also..... Will making this change affect any of the other channels that I am currently receiving??

Pros and Cons for using Intelsat (Armed forces satellite)

As this moment in time we can realign your dish to this satellite for between 50 and 150 euros depending where in the Algarve you are. In some cases the dish itself may have to be moved to allow the adjustment. In these rare cases we would have to charge to move the dish.
This system also needs a totally different box priced at 199 euros which will then give you back all your missing UK channels.
Now the downside. This satellite system is encrypted and the code could change two or three times a year. This would then mean you would have to call out and pay for an engineer to visit your property and load the new codes into your boxes. Charges are dependent upon where you are in the Algarve. Unfortunately we cannot honestly guarantee the future of this satellite, although it could prove to be a good alternative.
If you are happy with the above possibilities we can make the necessary changes.
249 euros for the box
75 euros for the dish realignment
150 euros if the dish has to be moved

There is another Sat launch Astra 2G planned for this year olus apparently SKY are going to replace all the existing cards to tighten up security and abuse ( Madrid sat site (.

Our Humax HD box also lists all the main UK channels but of course apart from S4C none are available.

We have a second 1m dish and receiver for our Dutch/German guests. I think it's on Nilesat and it gets a lot of the major sporting events. We've used it to watch F1 on the non BBC weeks. Commentary in German which is another plus. It will be interesting to see what else we can find.

There is a full page advert in todays Mail on Sunday, (Iberian edition) for a company called Europa Network offering internet TV boxes capable of most UK TV for a flat 50 Euro.
I think the company may be Spanish, and it may involve using their Broadband service. IE switching provider.

Does anybody know of this company?
Is the offer just for Spain??

It makes me smile, that they spend alot of money in buying a full page ad in a Sunday paper......and then dont man their phones on the Sunday the advert goes live!! :D

I believe that Europa is a Spanish internet service NOT available in Portugal.
The DM may be on sale in PT but it is the Spanish edition printed in Spain.
