New Chinese
New Chinese
The O Lotus in Lagoa (next to the Galp station) has transmogrified into another Chinese.
I looked in yesterday and although looking clean it did not seem to have much atmosphere.
The lady there spoke no english and only a little portuguese so I could not get much information but gathered that it will be a combination of service and selfservice buffet.
Prices seemed reasonable.
I now await a report from one of our gallant epicureans with a strong stomach to report on it before I venture there. Over to you Bruce ?
Happy New Year to All and may your taste buds be tantalised even more in 2014

Re: New Chinese
Not been myself, as heard too many bad reports from friends
Re: New Chinese
We looked at it in November nut were puzzled by the fact it was Chinese and Japanese. You don't usually get the two together. Noticed that even though it had a Xmas tree up it wasn't open and we passed it about three nights running. Will go with Roy and jay lay on this one and wait for someone else to try it
Re: New Chinese
anyone try the Chinese in Lagoa in the pedestrianised area? We walked past in October and it looked ok, menu and prices looked ok too. Surely better than any in CVO?

Re: New Chinese
Used to agree with you e-richard on the chinese in Lagoa, its okay and used to be better than any in Carvoeiro. However we have been lots to the chinese on the left up the hill and never had a bad meal, very reasonable as well
Re: New Chinese
Hi! We went to the Buffet, we booked in, there were 14 of us at lunch time, we were all so looking forward to it,
but so sorry to have to say it was absolutely awful, so disappointed.

Re: New Chinese
Agree with your comments about the Chinese at the top of Restaurant Hill. Haven't tried Lagoa - e-richard isn't exactly raving about it, we all deserve a better restaurant !tricky wrote:Used to agree with you e-richard on the chinese in Lagoa, its okay and used to be better than any in Carvoeiro. Re: New Chinese
No I agree the in Lagoa is ok but this is a new one by the Gulp garage
Re: New Chinese
Maybe it was just on the night we visited but didn't find it great. Ambiance was fine, staff were fine, food was poor. Close to awful that night.tricky wrote:Used to agree with you e-richard on the chinese in Lagoa, its okay and used to be better than any in Carvoeiro. When we stayed in Gale we had a meal in the Chinese there, just beside the big hotel (Hotel Gale
Re: New Chinese
The one in the old Lotus restaurant by the petrol station is not good! Shame as a decent sushi place around lagoa/carvoeiro would be welcome.
Re: New Chinese
Never had a decent meal in any chinese place in Carvoeiro......world class indian though, so nee bother
Re: New Chinese
For indian try the restaurant Masala in the square in front of Portimão Câmara. Small but good food IMO.
