Bring towels or purchase them?
Re: Bring towels or purchase them?
pato = EMM may well be a character but if he cannot follow sunman's advice he should refrain from responding to requests for information.sunman wrote:the idea is to read the contributors question and try to provide a helpful, pertinent answer.EMM wrote:Coming from someone who not read and understand his car insurance policy.
I did not suggest that Shep would use his owners towels but this forum is read by others who may not be aware of the problems this can cause.

Re: Bring towels or purchase them?
You may as well throw in the towel Dave.
Re: Bring towels or purchase them?
Thanks for all the advice. I booked through Villa plus on this holiday, so you lose that relationship you often build when renting directly with the owner. Otherwise i would certainly have discussed towels with an owner. Looking forward to the holiday in Carvoeiro with some sun, good food and a few pints.

Re: Bring towels or purchase them?
In reply to original post about buying then discarding towels........if that is your preference can I suggest rather than throwing away, why not hand into the Charity Shop at the top of the out road beside the motorcycle hire shop? It's not open on Sunday, only open Saturday 10am to 1pm (which I found out to my cost after lugging a bag from Sesmaris!!) and think 10am to 4 or 6 pm week days.
Enjoy your holiday!

Good idea smudger. Equally, you could go and look for towels in the charity shop. Who knows, the same towels might be bought and sold several times, which would delight the donkeys.

So who, may I ask, makes a sensible reply?Raithstar wrote:Brought it on himself, maybe if he reads posts and makes a sensible reply he will get an easier time .pato wrote:Another storm in a teacup, c'mon get real you guys, EMM is one of our site characters, leave him alone will ya! and buy your towels when you get to Cvo.
Re: Bring towels or purchase them?
What about a thin large towel which won't take up much room. Could try ASDA smart price or just go to Intermarche if not. I did read your post. We provide POOL towels, but who knows if they are used at the beach, prefer them not to be, but would cry if someone took my Egyptian white cotton towels. Hope you had a lovely time.

Re: Bring towels or purchase them?
If its a problem about packing them into a suitcase and having less room, then best to buy those vacuum bags. Place the towel in and use the vacuum cleaner on reverse extraction to make the packaging flat as a pancake! However, the only problem is that on the return journey, the villa you are staying in needs a similar vacuum device to flat pack the towels again unless your suitcase will not be as heavy or bulky on the homeward trip.

Yep I did that in June with the bedding. I got smaller ones in ASDA for £1, so great value. Put it into case first otherwise it often ends up a shape that is not compatible with the case.James Faro wrote:If its a problem about packing them into a suitcase and having less room, then best to buy those vacuum bags.
