We love CVO.

Post by Bigben »

My partner and I have visited CVO - just one week - for the last 3 years - April time when it is wonderfully quiet. We've stayed at the Tivoli, mainly because of its great location and sea-view rooms. We are thinking of returning in April, but wondered if folk here could suggest alternatives - just B&B, but a balcony with nice view is a must. And not too expensive.

Suggestions appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You could always try O Castelo - up the hill past the ice cream shop on the right hand side of the beach - great sea views and a unique location - not sure about prices but in April it shouldn´t be too high.
There is always the Carvoeiro Sol hotel in the centre of the town too - not too expensive and reopening on Feb 4 with rooms overlooking the square and towards the beach.
Further up the hill on the left hand side of the beach, past the GNR station there are also various places that you can stay with sea views.
If you are not concerned about staying in Carvoeiro then it is lovely in Benagil and the Terracos de Benagil have amazing views and are of a very high quality.
Alternatively, you could always do a quick search online to rent a private apartment which in April should not cost very much and there are plenty about with sea views in the area.
Good luck in finding the perfect place to stay in carvoeiro and I hope you enjoy your holiday here in 2013!

Thanks bubbles.

The Sol might be just a bit too central - I like peace and quiet, but I'll certainly look at O castelo. Am I getting mixed up, or was that once an Indian restaurant?

Hi, No you are not getting mixed up. The Indian restaurant has now closed and has been converted into apartments with lovely views across the beach.

Thanks alf. By chance, last night I followed a link on the main site and came across Casa Luiz. It looks just right - I must have walked past it dozens of times, but assumed the apartments were privately owned. I have emailed the management about availability in April, though no response yet. Hope I used the correct email address.

For anyone interested, I got in contact with Roger a couple of weeks ago and booked a week at Casa Luiz in mid-April. No deposit required - it's nice to feel trusted.
I'd have preferred the flight from Luton to be with Monarch, but they aren't starting Faro flights until early May, so Easyjet it is. But we've paid a little bit more for extra legroom.

With a week of pretty cold weather here in the UK - 4 inches of snow, treacherous side-roads and pot-holes getting bigger, we love having something nice to look forward to. Just pleasantly warm weather, without the high winds of last April, would do very nicely. :D

We have walked past this place more times than i care to remember on the way back to the car parked at the church. It looks a fantastic place, can only imagine what the views are like from the top rooms!

Patience is one of the many virtues I ain't got. Friday is the first of Feb. I wish it was the first of April. Then, I'd only have 2 weeks to wait to revisit CVO. :)

Have a super time. We love CVO too. We don't have such a wonderful sea view mind you, but it's good to be close to the action. We love the peace and quiet and space which has always been a must for us. had to forgo the fabulous sea view for a more limited sea view, but lovely valley views. Guess something had to give. next time you should look for villas too as I think you would be pleasantly surprised how reasonable they are in April. holiday lettings is a good site as it has plenty of choice. We are off to CVO Friday away from dull cold weather. 8)
