Salgados
Salgados
Many of you may know the lovely Salgados area with its beautiful beach and the lagoon which attracts flamingos and many migratory birds.
Silves Council have given permission for the erection of a monstrous development of hotels, tourist villages, commercial aresa and - yet another 18 hole golf course.
This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and would be the final part of the Silves council coastline to be swamped by concrete.
Please visit this website and sign to protest againts this abomination.

Re: Salgados
Thank you Nigel for bringing this to our attention. Carol and I have signed.
It is ridiculous to build yet more hotels, apartments etc. on one of the prime wetlands in Southern Europe when there are, at a guess, hundreds of unfinished (through insolvency) and unoccupied buildings adjacent to the site already.
Come on forumers - give this your support.

I've signed, and also spread the word on Facebook, Twitter and told the wife, which means the news will spread far and wide.
