Cattleman
Re: Cattleman
We will miss the cattleman if it has closed. Always had a good meal and liked Frank and Mila.
Re: Cattleman
Well it seems that Cattlemans is to re-open again in October.
Apparently Kim, formerly of Ele e Ela, Taste and most recently Carvoeiro Bar is jumping ship again to open another venture.

Re: Cattleman
Can anyone confirm if The Cattleman has re-opened as mentioned in a previous post?
Re: Cattleman
Ddn't look open to me when I went past this week.
Re: Cattleman
Spoke to Phillipe{Kims partner] Thet are opening but Kim is having a Baby and has been having to take things slow, but they are taking it over, they still running the Carveiro Bar for the time being.
Re: Cattleman
I was wondering if anyone has an update on Cattleman. We ate there several times last April, and enjoyed the food, but the history since then seems to be rather mixed/confusing/whatever.
Re: Cattleman
We went to Cattleman sometime during our stay last July and enjoyed a meal there one evening, we were the only ones there, but we went back a few days later only to find it all closed. Shame!
Re: Cattleman
Kim now gone back to Holland so think the Cattleman is shut, will have a look and ask next week when Ii out there
Re: Cattleman
I believe the Cattleman has reopened has anybody been yet.
Re: Cattleman
It has gone back to its original name, Flamingos, heard no reports yet and do not know who is running it, think it may be the owners of the property, they run it last about 8 years ago, maybe more. The only thing I can say is that on the board outside are photos of the dishes they serve, looks tacky now what will happen when the sun fades.
Re: Cattleman
Thanks JAYLAY time will tell.
Re: Cattleman
Was given a flyer yesterday for Flamingo, says
Portuguese and English Food
Uzbequistao Samarkand Food
Good price
Think I will wait to hear reports before trying.

Re: Cattleman
We walked past the place several times during the last week. I agree the photos of dishes don't look very appealing - to me, at any rate. On the other side of the path, the printed menus looked to be offering fairly standard fare. There just wasn't anything to entice us in, really.
I realise that is not very helpful. I'll be interested to read what someone who HAS tried it thinks.

Re: Cattleman
Agreed. Decided to try the Cattleman this time, only to find it had closed. I don't think it is the previous owner. There was a promotional piece in one of the local papers, made it sound interesting, but the menu is not, and all looks a bit tacky from the outside. One of the problems is that you cannot see the place from the road to get a better indication of whether you want to visit. It is a lovely spot, and we used it quite often when it was O Flamingo.Bigben wrote:We walked past the place several times during the last week.
