Satellite Dish Installation

Post by wattsey »

Hello
Does anyone have any recommendations and price please for supply and fit of a satellite dish. We are on rocha brava and will be bringing our Sky box and viewing card out with us, so just need the dish and dual cable to be installed.
Thanks in advance

You could find that your SKY Box, isnt powerful enough for the weaker signal you will get, even with a 1.4M dish. A Pace box, buyable locally should do the trick.

I have a place on rocha brava and had a dish installed a few years ago but now it is cable and just plug in to the wall socket. Have known RJ since the beginning and will always recommend them

While a modern box is obviously more efficient it is the size of your dish that matters.
As the satellite orbit decays and the signal weakens we are seing a decline in the number and quality of the channels we receive.

There have been a number of reports that the replacement for Astra 2 will offer even less to those outside of the official " SKY " envelope meaning replacement of a lot of dishes with larger ones if we want to keep watching UK TV.

Ron5000 - where do you get the cable feed from, is there a monthly charge for this and do you know if all apartments on RB are able to connect?

As far as I know all of RB is cabled. Ask reception they will advise you. I didn't even know I was connected until I bought a new telly, plugged it in and connected the cable to the wall socket and found I had all the free to air stuff plus a bit of Portuguese and some film channels
