sand sculptures

Has anyone been to the sand sculpture exhibition that is advertised all over the place?

Is it worth a visit? Would the children enjoy it?

Hi Mansie, we went to the sand sculptures last year and it is well worth a visit. I think very young children would probably not appreciate the sculptures, but don't let this put you off. Dave.

well they are very mean..all i can say is i asked permission to put a charity box on their 2 metre x 10 metre empty counter and they told me to get lost...so i did and i wont be recomending any of my customers to go there....they should remember reprocity is the beginning of all good things

howya mansie sorry about the former curt reply..if its the same expo that was on last year then its well worth the trip we put it together with a vist to crazy zoo but went to the expo first and missed the english part of the zoo tour...i reckon the sand thing was something else ..huge dragons and crabs .......give yourself about an hour ..but beware theres no shade so maybe a night vist would be more viable...in fact with the music and lighting its probably more spectacular ...anyway enjoy.
guest..on the subject of collection boxes ..do you not think theres a time and place for everything...a guy with his wife and kids is going to shell out 30 or 40 euro plus snacks and maybe the expo lads felt they didn,t want to gilt trip him out of any more.

no one is forcing anyone to put money into a charity box...its a voluntary thing..but since charities dont get state funding the only way to raise cash is by means of a collection box...the point is that the placing of a collection box does not involve any cost to the organiisation...they may not agree with a charitiies aims or collect money for some other cause...the meaness comes in saying NO! WE DONT WANT IT!!!
what problem is their in placing a box 6 cm square on an enormous bar counter
well as far as myself and the villas we look after I have now received their message.....and I too say NO WE DONT WANT IT!

So its down to a simple ..can i put my box on your counter..feel free to say no ..but if you do i will bad mouth you all over the algarve ...i will advise my clients not to visit this expo(which will be their loss not yours as you have already seen it)and iwill come on this forum and slag you off to any body else that will listen...was there a charity mentioned in your first post .because i,m not seing much evidence of charity here.i,m sure the charity you represent wouldn,t be too happy to see this little tirade.....by the way which one do you collect for.

I agree with Gerry. It is totaly within Fiesa's right to say no. I am sure there are tons of other places who dont mind boxes all over their counters.

Don't see them knocking your charity though.

Think you should try a different approach to fund raising from the the ' I have the right' attitude. Well intentioned you may well be, but people are under no obligation to accede to your request, for many reasons, and you should be prepared to accept this,rather than bad mouthing them
