Best place......

Post by vezzer83 »

Hi folks

Hope everyone is well. My partner and I & four members of her family are coming over to CVO in April. She is the big 4 0 on friday 16th april & we want to go somewhere nice. I know it wont be overly busy but I want to find somewhere with a nice feel.

We have been to CVO many times, but usually just go with the flow, we will no doubt head to the local bars on the hill but looking for somewhere with a good atmosphere, good food without being to fancy.......

any ideas are much appreciated.......

also are they any party shops in CVO, ballons, banners etc......or am i best getting them here?

cheers

The Bon Bon restaurant in Sesmarias - near the water tower - would be an excellent choice particularly on a Friday when they have a brilliant duo performing smooth Brazilian type jazz. Not cheap but good value for the quality.

You could go to Happy's next to the Round Up. The atmosphere is always good and the owner Libre always makes you feel very welcome there. There is a party shop in Lagoa near the municipal swimming pool.

This is a tricky question as everyone has different ideas of what makes for a good place! Also depends on where you are staying, whether you are prepared to drive to the restaurant or want somewhere within walking distance etc.

I would echo Roy's recommendation of the Bon Bon for a 'classy' meal and the music on a Friday night makes for a good atmosphere but it isn't that 'lively' a place, even when full on a Friday night so it depends how 'lively' an atmosphere you want - or whether you are prepared to make your own atmosphere! For excellent fish and fantastic location (but as a result it is not cheap) I would go for Rei das Praias at Caneiros beach - busy atmosphere and I'm sure both places will make a fuss for a 'special' occasion.

Also good is Bella Vita at Club Atlantico and, if you're prepared to venture further afield you could try Quinta do Sao Bento up in the hills between Monchique and Foia. See Restaurant reviews to get a feel for these places.

Best of luck and hope you have a great birthday celebration.

Julios between Vale do Milho and Rocha Brava - is the perfect setting for an informal special occasion.

If you really want to push the boat out - try La Bella Vita at Clube Atlantico.

I would go along with that, Libre and Harry allway's make you welcome they are a good double act plus the food pretty good too.

I agree with Jeremy if you want a really nice evening out to celebrate a 'special' birthday then Maximes id really good, I wouldn't use Happy's it is a very down market type of place. (sorry to all of you who like it but I think it is horrible, like a 'holiday camp' cafe......) each to our own.

If you have transport then I would recommend either Chrissy's in Lagoa or Brasserie Marina near Benagil, both very good restaurants with excellent food.

Hope your partner has a great birthday.

Maximes or Julios would be my choice - the Marina near Benagil is lovely as well, lovely location.

Hi.
I'm a taxi driver in Carvoeiro, so most of the costumers (95%) prefer Restaurant La Bella Vita in Algarve Clube Atlantico.
