I heard dreadful news today that Ronald has passed away. This has only been confirmed to me second hand but appears to be correct. Any of you that knew Ronald, Elke and family will be, as I am, very sad indeed I am sure.

Yes we found out last night. Extremely sad news and such a shock for everyone.

We heard of it this afternoon, and we are very shocked indeed. It was last Friday that we met Ronald in the bank office and we had a chat with him. Over the last 10 years or so, we have learned to know him as a very kind person, always an optimist, and pleasant company. It is hard to imagine how his wife Elke must feel now, having to deal with such a loss.

No idea of the circumstances, but was very sad to hear the news. I only dealt with him a few times, but he was the most courteous and helpful gentleman.

So shocked to just read this. We always play at the club whenever we are over in cvo and Ronald has always been brilliant at arranging games for us or for our friends whenever asked. Juggling all the demands of the job was never going to be easy but we always found him friendly and helpful. Sunday morning mixed doubles will not be the same without him. Our thoughts go out to Elke and family.

The following message was issued by the tennis club:

Dear Members and Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that on Friday 31 July, Ronald Henneberke
passed away.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Elke, Esther and Anique at this most difficult time.

The funeral will take place this week but will be a private family affair. However, a MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place at the tennis club on Friday 7th August at 18:00 for those who wish to join us to say farewell.

There will be an opportunity for anyone who would like to share their memories (photos, videos etc.) with us at this time.

To enable us to contact all our good friends and former members whose contact we might not have please feel free to pass our invitation on.

É com o coração pesado que comunicamos que na Sexta-feira, dia 31 de Julho, o Sr. Ronald Henneberke faleceu.

Os nossos pensamentos estão com a Elke, Esther e Anique nesta altura difícil.

O funeral terá lugar esta semana, mas será em privado. No entanto, um SERVIÇO EM MEMÓRIA
ao Ronald terá lugar no clube de ténis, na Sexta-feira, dia 7 de Agosto às 18h00, para todos aqueles que desejarem dizer um último adeus.

Haverá oportunidade para os presentes partilharem as suas memórias connosco (fotos, videos etc.).
