Haven't been inside, but the villa is located on the hill just up from the old Rafaiol restaurant at the end of Rua do Barranco (the out road), so quite close to the village if you're ok with hills (it's quite steep!)

Havent been inside either but have passed it. Its so conveniently located and its not a very long hill and if you are getting it for a good price and for the size of your party I'd say go for it. Definitely no need to drive unless you want access to big supermarkets.

I was also looking at this villa for 3 families next year. Exactly how steep is the hill, say in comparison to the toughest Monte Dourado hill? Don't mind a good climb ourselves but my father does have mobility problems. He can manage the easiest Monte Dourado hill by the food market okay.

Sorry Jimmy, meant to say we have used Villaplus several times & never had a problem. We have stayed in villas Moita, Leoes & Vista Do Mar depending on our party size. All were fine, the 1st 2 probably our favourites. Didn't think heated pool would make that much difference, but it was a real bonus with young children. While I'm not sure their prices are the cheapest, when spliting between families it normally works out reasonably.Their service has always been professional but you don't get mithered by reps etc while away. I would say don't book their flights or transfers, shop around, as we have always managed to find these cheaper & just booked villa only.

Emilser, if your dad continued on up the street (Rua do Cerro) past the Monte Dourada entrance at the market it levels off and you go toend of that street and take a left, past a mini roundabout and the villa is down a little on the right.
Otherwise as previously mentioned you take the slightly steeper hill at O Rafaiol restaurant (Rua do Rafaiol).
I have stayed at Vila Elizabete on Rua do Cerro which is just up from Monte Dourada and my mum who hasnt great mobility managed that no problem. It only sleeps 8 but a very nice villa and am going back again this year! We tried out both ways and she found it easier to go via Rua do Cerro.

It probably would be better to go the long way round - the hill by Rafaiol is quite steep, doesn't have pavements and is calçada so it could be quite slippery

Thanks very much for the info. We have previously stayed at Moita which is just past Ali Super, my dad managed that okay, so sounds as though he would be alright with this villa. Is it about another 5 mins walk from Ali Super? Jimmy, you will get fit pushing/carrying your grandchildren up & down the hill - we have 2 little ones! Definately going to price up this villa ourselves, looks lovely.

Hi Emma,
Have stayed in Villa Bella next door, the climb is not long but steep! However taken slowly all can manage. The beauty of this spot is you are only 10 minute walk to beach edge and it is very quiet day and night, you will enjoy!

Cooler King.
