I think the shop that was in Pera on the N125 for a short while wasn't too successful & closed down I don't think they relocated, as far as I know there is just the original shop in Alamancil.

There is the linen shop in Lagoa next to the vodaphone shop at the junction by the wine co op.

The same products as old in John Lewis ( they say ).

I went to the one on the 125 a couple of times - everything I bought from there was appalling quality - linen lasted only a few washes (in a brand new washing machine) before it went bobbly. Returned it, got a different type, and exactly the same happened. The cheap stuff from Conforama is still going strong. Towels were not too bad, but bobbly towels are less of a problem than a bobbly bottom sheet!

I've bought sheets at Yorkshire Linen shop for apartment rentals and now find that they are going bobbly after a very few washes. Whwere else can I get fitted poly cotton sheets here, or is it better to send for them from UK?

I would get them from the UK - just stocked up on linen for home as John Lewis has a big sale on at the moment!

There has been a stall on Albufeira & Quarteira markets selling "Dorma" bedding sheets , which are percale cotton and doesn't bobble. I bought some double sheets from them costing €5 each, (Still in the original packaging) in the Uk they are approx £12/£15 each The Dorma factory closed down approx 12months ago, they had a factory near my house in UK , so maybe these guys have bought a bulk lot at auction. The last time I saw them was in mid May. As another poster says John Lewis bedding sheets are excellent quality and best bringing them over from the UK when they have discounted sales on them. I also find that quilted mattress protectors, & continental quilts are expensive in Portugal and always buy mine in the UK, trouble is there is only so much you can bring over at any one time, as the costs for over limit baggage per KG is expensive, and outweighs the savings made.

Thanks for all the comments and advice. I have always brought the sheets etc over from UK as I like the fitted sheets, but with all the baggage restrictions now, I thought I could get them here at Yorkshire Linen. I was wrong, and will have to get some more brought over, so it was definitely a false economy!

Funnily enough, I wasn't very happy with my washing machine - didn't spin very well, so I DID change it - and the blasted sheets bobbled almost immediately with the new machine ...
