Transfers
Right my second topic to bore you all with,
We have been getting quotes for transfers from Faro and have got it down to €110 each way. That is for 6 Adults 2 Infants & 1 Child.
Does that sound a good price?
Thanks
Simon

Re: Transfers
Yes it does, assume its private transfer for you group and not one of the shuttles ?

Get a quote from these people - they seem to be about the average price :

Re: Transfers
Used farotransfer.com last month as recommended by others on the forum. Link is on home page. Don't know if you have tried them? We paid 70 euros each way. That was for 5 adults & 2 children. Very reliable. Childseats/boosters provided that were of a decent quality. Safe driver ( had terrifying a experience there one year with another company - chatting on mobile phone, & driving like a bat out of hell one handed about a metre behind cars in front. Would not listen when asked to drive more slowly -awful!).

Re: Transfers
The quote above came from Bravotur. Anyone used them before?
Re: Transfers
Hi Simon,
I have used them for the past 15 years and have never (touch wood!) had any problems, they are courteous and polite. I would recommend them to anyone.

Re: Transfers
If you look at the Algarvedriver site http://www.algarvedriver.com/pricelist.php you can get a 9-seater transporter for €475 a week in the high season. Bearing in mind the comments about getting a car to maximise the holiday experience, then this might be your answer. Driving in the area is not difficult.

Gary and I have mostly (for arriving family) used Simon at Terreno tours for the past 5 years with no troube at all. it was €50 each way but will have to check for this year. I think that price is a bit steep personally

Re: Transfers
As regular visitors one of the factors we have considered before we buy a car to leave at the villa is the cost of transfers.
Certainly in the low season car hire prices are such that it does not make sense to outlay a significant amount of capital and then pay for transfers on top.
E475/week for a mini bus I have to say sounds like a fantastic deal, However not the easiest hehicle to drive and park unless you are an experienced driver.

Re: Transfers
Ok thinking of a 9 seater now. What is parking like near the beach/town. I'm guessing it will be a transit sized people carrier so wont fit in normal parking spaces that easy. Will there be many problems with parking to anyones knowledge??
Thanks

Re: Transfers
My management company actively discourages clients from getting those 9 seater minibuses for Carvoeiro based on the premise "If you think parking a car in Carvoeiro is hard.....just try it with a minibus!"
2 family groups are persuaded to get 2 small cars for that reason. Maybe not so sociable for group outings, but no more expensive....but at least you can park.

Re: Transfers
Simon, parking was a problem before the 'improvements'. Such improvements have made it an even bigger problem.

Re: Transfers
Ah right, well there will be 9 of us in total 6 Adults 2 babies and 1 child. Looks like getting one small car and doing shuttle runs between the villa and beach/town may be a good idea!!
