Do you have an idea when the new map / directions will be on the web site from Faro airport to Carvoeiro? Were due out there in June.
Cheers in advance.

Hi Steen
Probably because it says very little on your profile, I always imagined you in a small office not far off the square, possible running a foreign exhange/excursion business
. I am struggling to to believe that you are not there everyday - you see thats the wonder of the world wide web - any of us could be anyone, anywhere.
Now you'll tell us you are a brain surgeon working at the cutting edge of medical science and you maintain the site between operations and giving lectures.
Gosh!

Our hero is in France and it's his wife that was taking the photos and came back with an empty camera! From the airport you now follow the BLUE motorway signs for either Portimao or Lagos and get off at the old turn off "best bet" or carry on until you reach the sign for Lagoa Norte and Silves. From there you follow the "Brown" signs to Carvoeiro. The "main" part of the journey which used to be IP1 is now re classified as the A22 albeit it's a motorway and for those in the UK runs from London to the south coast, Eastbourne I think so not hard to forget.

OK, get off the motorway hype already
I still think the old route is advisable for the following reasons:
1. it is 13kms shorter
2. The Carvoeiro signs are only placed at 50% of the intersections off the new part of the motorway - good luck finding the correct way in the middle of the night with a "local driver" climbing in to your trunk
3. there is considerably less traffic into Lagoa now that the people going to Portimão, etc. use the motorway to get around Lagoa
4. I have not had time to make the bloody pictures for the new bit either (sorry Steen
)
5. Did I mention it was 13 Kms shorter?

Simon, take the last message as best as I've tried the new route. However, I can't rember what the sign to get off is now if your to pass the international school on the way in to Lagoa. Going back to the airport is far quicker using the old entry than the new one. Hope this makes sense because I've had a couple this afternoon and sadly not "super bocks"
