Running Routes

Post by Smack7 »

Hello

We are returning to Colina Branca for the second year in a row with friends in late June. Bit more organised this year, little kids a bit easier to handle and big kids a bit more demanding.

Looking for some suggestions of routes to run early morning (subject to alcohol consumption) between 3-5 miles for my wife to run in turns with our biggest pair of kids.

Don't like running on beach or busy roads. Any ideas?

Thanks

Sandy

PS. Vouch for the quality of the smoked cheese, fish et al. Eat it regularly at home. Top notch!

I assume that a good walking route is also a good running route ?

If yes, the this has been covered on the forum before. Also, you'll find good walking guides here:

Thanks for the information which is helpful.

I wondered if there is any runners amongst you who use routes around the town?

Thanks

Come on guys there must be one fitness freak out there?

Appreciate the benefits of the CVO rest and relaxation but having worked damned hard to get rid of my belly I can't wreck it with two weeks on the lash!

Help!

:D

I run from Rocha Brava and my usual run early morning is on the main road into Carvoeiro turn left in the square and back along the cliff tops as far as the hotel Cristal before returning to the road.Alternatively from Rocha Brava down to hotel cristal turn right and make my way back to Rocha Brava along the Benagil road.A longer run is from Rocha Brava to Benagil onto Brasserie Marina where you turn left and make your way back to Rocha Brava but I suggest you suss it out by car first.

I am not a runner, but my son is, and when he stayed with us at Rocha Brava, his preferred route was;

Rocha Brava to Carvoeiro along the main road.
Turn right at the square, and out to the traffic lights at Poco Partido.
Turn right and follow the Benagil road past Nunos and Restaurante Roma.
To the top of the hill, then back to Rocha Brava past Golfemar.

He reckoned that this was about 9 kilometres.

My route - is around 6K .. down lane from Monte Servo top ADM left at crossroads downhill to poco partido, then left all the way to the square and back up the hill past the market. The stretch from PP to the square is not ideal due to the traffic but there is a path off road some of the way. Plus, I tend to go out fairly early when the traffic is light so it is not so much of an issue.
