We had heard some talk of the polidesportivo behind the Marisqueira being turned into a multi-storey carpark, which sounded like a good idea. Out of the way sort of hidden and not to far out of town with lots more than 80 spaces. This new idea sounds a bit stupid seeing as along that bit of road you could probably park 80 cars anyway1 I don't think people renting in Monte Dourado are going to think it's very funny when their road is the main road in and out of carvoeiro Also Ma-Ja's road (Rua do Casino) is to become one way but the other way, no mention of the Tia Ilda road, I don't think it's been thought through very well.
I gather the Monte Dourado road would only be temporary until the square was updated. I couldn't see this road being suitable permanently, vans even struggle up this hill.

Being a bit of a Nimby, I certainly hope not. My apartment is over the marisqueira and I like the peace and quiet up there! Not to mention it is quite a walk up that hill after a few drinks ...
We always park by the chapel, and walk down the hill into town. Sure, it's a stiff climb back up to the car afterwards, but it helps to burn off the calories.
I heard that they dont mean for the parking to be by the chapel but at the other and of th road near to the algar seco bistro. Still a huge hill but even further from the town. Perhaps the camera will buy the little train to take people up there thus getting a bit of yr railway in CVO!
