Mistral

This topic has been bounced from the one entitled "Worst takeaway ever"!

Mistral is worth a visit simply for its different ambience, friendly enthusiastic staff and plentiful meals.

Last eating place on the left on road out of town noticeable by the huge palm tree.

I agree, have eaten at Mistal 3 times and always enjoyed it. It certainly is a beautiful environment to sit and eat in....and we've always found the food good. The Picanha in particular is lovely.

huge palm tree.

When was the last time you looked?!!

I always thought the Mistral was good if you fancied something other than over cooked carrots, green beans and chips. Must admit we haven't been there for years and probably won't go in the near future, but the reason has nothing to do with the food, service or place

Said last year it was a fab place to go.
We are out on Monday in CVO and have already got our table booked for the evening.
Last year we went for our wedding anniversary and they were brilliant, we felt so lucky to find such good food, drinks, ambience, music and such friendly people.

Intrigued by everyone's reviews of this place we tried it out twice on our last visit a few weeks ago - both on Monday evening. We really enjoyed the live music, the atmosphere and had excellent fish on the first occasion when it was just the two of us. Unfortunately, on the second occasion which was our last night out with friends who were staying with us, we booked a table but when we came to order there was no fresh fish left, other than the Cataplanas. Two of us had the Cataplana which was delicious but our menfolk had the 'Cod' dish which they didn't like at all - so if you want fresh fish make sure you get there early!
