New Brasserie Marina, Benagil.
I would just like to say that Brasserie Marina restaurant in Benagil has opened as of 17th March, we drove past last night as we were on our way to O Literol to get some supper. Seeing the lights on we decided to try it as it was always one of our favourite places. The funny thing was that the waiter from O Literol is now the front of house man here.
The owner is Sally Anne Griggs and we met her father last night, a lovely man who has known this restaurant for many years, they have a winning team there now a Scottish/Maderian chef who is brilliant, a great head waiter and super staff.
It has been brightened up with new decorations and fabrics. It felt bright and welcoming.
I had the blue cheese stuffed mushroom which was lovely followed by black pork fillet served with mango and orange sauce which was tender and very zingy served with new potatoes and a selection of fresh vegetables. My other half had the homemade vegetable soup which he said was smashing followed by the fillet steak, cooked as ordered and with a pepper sauce, again served with new potatoes and veg. We started with G&T's then went on to the house wines (white and red ... both very good) and bottled fizzy water. The bill was around 35 Euros each which for the quality of the food we were very happy about.
Do try it and let us know what you think, we will be back for sure.

To be honest, I thought that Lesley was rather over egging the pudding with her review of this restaurant, but not really.
We had an excellent meal here, very good service and a really enjoyable evening.
A little on the pricy side, but well worth the drive out to Marianhas

Re: New Brasserie Marina, Benagil.
Hi there. New to the forum but have been going to the area for the past 8 years or so. We used to love the 'old' Brasserie Marina but when we were in the area this summer it was closed for some reason? I see that it did re-open earlier this year - can anyone update me? Thanks!

Well that surprises me! obviously the drinks weren't included in the bill, we paid 10 euros for half a bottle of white, had one course and the bill was 33 euros each, no starter no nothing, oh! a small bottle of water. String chips (cold) were 5 euros Something wrong with your costing methinks!![]()
