Nice meal with kids

Post by kaycee »

We're visiting mid-July for 2 weeks (can't wait) with our kids who are 9 + 5. Been to CVO before, but many years ago. Can anyone recommend a couple of nice restaurants in town which will accommodate the kids without their meals being chicken nuggets and pizza? They avoid veg like most children, but are quite open minded to more adult style food (they just can't manage the adult portions)!

We're staying at Colina Village, but will eat at varied locations.

Thanks.

Elliots at Monte Carvoeiro is good for kids. You can go to the Cocktail Garden for a drink first and Luis might do some juggling or dish out the chinese puzzles. The restaurants and bars are located around a central fountain, where kids congregate after the meal, leaving you free to enjoy your port. :)

Virtually every restaurant in carvoeiro is "kid friendly"

The one we take our kids to is A Gale'

Kids enjoy "Chicken George" near Rocha Brava...your side of town....head toward Benagil, look out for sign on the left.

Monte Carvoerio is ideal, they can leave you at the table and toddle off into the square safe as houses and in sight...choice of several up there and even mama mia has a grassed area infront where kids sit and chat ...could kill a pizza now!

Thanks all for your prompt replies. I really can't wait for our trip, especially as it's far from summer weather here. What I'm looking forward to most, is eating al fresco in the warm evenings

There is a restaurant on site at Colina Village - it was a high end restaurant but don't know about it now that Nuno went to Primento Preta at Palm Gardens. I am sure that it would be kid friendly as most places are in and around CVO. Enjoy your stay!

Happy's on restaurant hill is good for kids (young and old alike! ) but you'll have to book before you arrive in CVO.

The 2 restaurants that our kids enjoy the most are : Villa Medici (? spelling), which has now moved into new premises, great pasta/pizza, and Tia Ilda where they loved the chargrilled chicken and sea views.

Vimar (recently taken over by João, ex Estrela do Mar) at the top of restaurant hill has a huge play area at the back of the restaurant, perfect for little ones. Like most restaurants in Carvoeiro, I expect they are able to provide smaller portions if requested.
