I guess the facts do speak for themselves, and as the place has been packed all summer, then they can't be doing too much wrong. Everybody has a choice, if you like the place then you'll go back, if you don't, you don't.

Well just returned (last night) from 11 fab days in CVO and all i can say is that some of the comments in this thread are complete tosh!

We visited Ele & Elas last Friday and had an absolutely fab meal. As i commented in this thread a little while ago, we hadn't visited Ele & Elas for a couple of years because i thought it was a little overpriced, but i will take that all back.

We gave it another chance and it definitely delivered. Service was great - the south african guy who's been there for 6 years now, i think - sorry can't remember his name but he was a very good advert for restaurant table service.
The meal was superb - we had thai fishcakes for starters, followed by rack of lamb for me and the moroccan style lamb shank for my wife. Desserts were the banana in amaretto and ice cream, plus the chocolate cake for my wife - complimented by a very respectful rose wine at a good price. Plus a large bottle of sparkling water. Total bill was 68 euros and well worth it - so hats off to all at Ele & Ela.

Compare this to our meal the previous eve at O Patio - nice location, yes, - the food was OK but WELL overpriced and what measly portions. We won't be going to O Patio again -
and for any newbies take care if you do decide to frequent O Patio - menus are given to you just after you order a drink - then you open it up and see the prices and by that time the drinks are being poured - so you feel tied to stay to eat even if you think it's pricey! No menu advertised outside either - you have to step into the covered part of the building to view a menu - crafty or just clever - take your pick!

So, if you want a more 'special' meal definitely visit Ele & Elas.
