RYAN AIR NEW FLIGHTS
RYAN AIR NEW FLIGHTS
For those of us in the west country, there is now an alternative to EJ from
Bristol.
Ryan Air will be flying to Seville from July.
This won,t appeal to everyone but if the prices are low enough it could be worth a look.

Just remember to check all the details when you book a Ryanair flight.
i.e. baggage costs, check in costs, taxes and of course the absolute rip of a £5.00 per person per way credit/debit charge cost.
I have recently booked flights to Sardinia with Ryanair that started out at £60 and ended up at £150!

I travelled with Ryanair last year and was pleasantly surprised. One bit of advice though is to pay for priority boarding. It was worth every penny. We did quite well. Managed with hand luggage only so no check in charge. I was worried about the size of my bag but no-one bothered to check the size or weight. Checked in on line so no waiting in queues. I too think the credit card charge is a rip-off but our flight was still cheaper than we could get anywhere else and there were no complaints about the service on board. We also seemed to have more leg room than on other flights we have taken. All in all, quite a pleasant experience.

May I put in my customary word for the trusty Electron Visa card, the only one which doesn't incur Ryanair's payment charges. Halifax do one which you can order online and top up at the Halifax counter or, instantly, through your own internet bank. Painless and quick application - it's had some use since I got it as the whole family have booked various flights using it. We saved £32.00 on our summer flights for four. I'd sooner be spending that on a drink or two on my hols. Every little helps!

Yes, I do believe that one can fly for £40, but I understand that not ALL seats will be sold at that price. Many will be at a higher price so that the airline gets the total revenue it needs to fill the plane with petrol at the pumps. Its called "loss-leader" and a common enough marketing ploy, when used genuinely.djprescott wrote:........agree Ryanair are very misleading with their pricing policy, but does anyone really believe you could fly to Faro from anywhere in the UK for 1p or even £40 for that matter. With 180 seat aircraft that would not cover the cost of A1 jet fuel!!!
My objection is when this ploy used disingenuously and the apparently low fare publicized to get you in is actually not available at all, ever, under any circumstances.
I'm not referring to the extras (leg room, early boarding, insurance etc) which you can decline, I'm referring to "handling charges" which you cannot decline.
Ryanair are often knocked and when things go wrong and they are a nightmare, as a passenger you are on your own.
But having said that they have brought millions of low fares across Europe and offer a punctual service on new aircraft.
Forget the lead in pricing and look at the total figure and almost always it will be much cheaper than fares offered by other carriers.
Perhaps going a bit off topic.
Flights to Seville from Bristol sound good. You can perhaps spend a couple of nights in Seville before heading to the Algarve.

We travelled with Ryanair at Christmas and was shocked to see how many people were taking obvious 'hold luggage' through as hand luggage. I agree with Hoppies that no one bothered to check the size or weight of the suitcases and this meant that one of our items of hand luggage had to go to the other end of the aircraft which made it difficult after we had landed. They were, however, strict about only one item per person, even a bag bought in duty free ( before anyone corrects me, I do know that it's not duty free anymore, but we still call it that out of ease).hoppies wrote:I travelled with Ryanair last year and was pleasantly surprised. We have travelled many times via other budget airlines, I don't think that we will be travelling with Ryanair again unless these issues are ironed out.
