WALK - MONDAY 26 MAY 2025 - CISCTUS VALLEY

Post by Linda and Russell »

Linda will be leading this walk. It is in a hidden valley with just one gradual uphill section, the rest mostly flat or downhill. There are some fun water crossings, so plenty of water for the dogs, nice scenery, lots of baragems and wild flowers. It is a longer walk at just over 11kms. We meet in Figueira then drive 3kms to the start of the walk where parking is limited so we need to car share. The usual rules apply: wear good footwear, bring a drink, a pole if you use one and walk at your own risk and no charge.

MEETING TIME 9.00am. Meeting point: Cafe Trigo Bom, Figueira. Cafe should be open for coffee before the start.

Directions: Go along N125 past Alvor and Penina Golf. After 2kms at the 2nd roundabout take the right turn up into Figueira. Follow the road round to the left, go straight through the small crossroads. The cafe is about 200metres on the right. Park in the car park just after the cafe.
We may stay for lunch at the cafe in the village as they do a set menu for around 12 euros.

Please indicate below if you are joining the walk and if you wish to stay for lunch. Contact on the day is: 0044 796 0552618.

An enjoyable morning walking, the dogs got to have a swim and cool off and the river crossings were manageable. We all stayed for an al-fresco lunch at the cafe in the village.
