WALK – TUESDAY 31 MARCH 2020: BRAVURA LAKE - CANCELLED DUE TO VIRUS
Posted: Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:53 pm
Although it is not as dramatic as the area around Funcho, this walk is extremely pleasant and highlights the Bravura Lake which was created by building a dam in the sixties.
There will be one uphill stretch, but otherwise it is not too strenuous.
Duration approximately 2 hours. 8 Km
Lunch: Probably at the A Choupana restaurant near Odiáxere.
Directions: Take the EN125 towards Lagos until you come to Odiaxere. In the centre of the town at the traffic lights turn right. Follow the signs for the Barragem. When you arrive above the lake there is a Snack Bar on the left (The Hello Goodbye Snack Bar) with a large car park next to it. Park here (not too close to the snack bar). The bar is not open in the morning, so you will have to have your coffee before hand.
GPS 37.200880, -8.699505
Start: 10h00.....but please arrive by 09h45
Please indicate below if you can come and if you would like lunch.
Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.
Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 08h30 on the day of the walk.
Any questions, please ask or ring 00 33 624 624 792 .
