Walk 4 February 2020 (Tuesday); Cumeada Ridge and Barralha Valley CLOSED
Posted: Thu Jan 16, 2020 10:59 pm
I did this walk earlier this week with Carol and Wendy, and we all thought that it would make a worthy addition to the CVO repertoire!
Moderately easy circular walk along the Cumeada ridge with stunning views and then back along the little known Baralha river valley. One long uphill stretch, but nothing too dramatic.
Start at cafe on the road to the Arade Barragem ( 37.221532, -8.378085 ).
Directions : Drive to Silves, cross the bridge into town and then turn right. At the roundabout take the first exit and then follow the road towards Messines. After about 7km you turn to the left to the Arade Barragem. Follow the road for about 1km and the small café is on the left. Good parking opposite and after the café.
There is no lunch available at the café, but we are not far from Norinho and Silves for lunch afterwards.
Start: 10h00.....but please arrive by 09h45 if you want a coffee!
Please indicate below if you can come.
Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.
Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0830 on the day of the walk.
Any questions, please ask or ring 00 33 624 624 792 .
