Walk is now closed.
This is a new variant of an old favourite, it's the one we recce'ed the the other day. not as steep a hill as the Enxerim one, but still a good steady climb with lovely views.
It's flat along the lavada to start, has 5 minutes of back road and then is all on country tracks, many of them uphill but with quite a long climb in the early stages,but after that the paths are good and there is a gentle descent, along with some lovely views.
Duration : last time 2h 15m.....8km, 332m ...but this may be a bit longer.
The cafe has been tried and recommended : menu and size is limited but they do a good grilled meat or fish prata de dia. Optional lunch price is 8.5€ for chicken/pork/Carapau/chicken with chick peas but 12.5€ for Dorada......but please note new lunch price policy at viewtopic.php?f=39&t=27800 so , as no one will have any change, cost will be 10€ for chicken/pork etc and 15€ for dorada. We will need to order before the walk. See also my post below.
Degree of Difficulty ( scale 1:5 ) : 3 or 3.5...certainly energetic.
Start: 1000.....but please arrive by 0945 if you want a coffee!
Directions : drive from Carvoeiro to Silves, go over the bridge and turn right and follow the N124 for about 3.2 kms until you see Cafe Casa de Pasto a Norinho on your left : park in layby opposite.

It is ESSENTIAL that you indicate below if you can come and whether you want lunch, as numbers will be limited to about 20. Thank you.....David & George will be organising a walk for any extras, either same day or day after.
Walking boots/stout trainers recommended and walking poles.
Usual caveats - all walks are at your own risk, and we do not walk if it is pouring with rain...no charge, of course...I will endeavour to put any cancellation note on this site by 0830 on the day of the walk.
