our recent holiday restaurant review
We have just returned from Carvoeiro and although found the place quieter than expected we still enjoyed our visit.
Restaurants we visited were:
A Rede : Very good polite service, excellent food/wine. Our most expensive meal out but worth it. Couvert, 2 main course,2 sweets, water ,wine =64 euros.
Marisqueira. lunch here. good service, nice fresh cooked meal. Couvert, 2 soups, 2 main course, water.= 24 euros
A Gale: Friendly service, good food/ wine. Couvert +cheese, 2 main course, wine, water.= 43 euros
Jota-Lita; Very friendly service, great food /wine. couvert, 2 very large main courses, Wine, water, complimentary port at end of meal. = 35 euros
We also had to eat in the hotel twice due to the bad weather and not wanting to venture out in it.
We visited Jota -Lita twice during the week because of the price and the service but we were saddened on our last night when though dining early we were the only one's in there, yet on leaving and passing A Gale we noticed they were quite full. Having used both restaurants we have to say both were equally good in food and service, so it can only be that A Gale is the place to be seen. The other place that was usually busy was Casa Algarvia. It was sad to see so many empty restaurants in the evenings and while we were there O Patio was closing up for winter. Hope things can improve for them all next season so the village can thrive.

Re: our recent holiday restaurant review
Thanks for that Tony, agree with you re Jota Lita.
We had never dined there until this last visit and we had a lovely meal there, the service was excellent
and the staff were really pleasant and out to oblige.

Re: our recent holiday restaurant review
We like both Gale & Jota Lita but of the two we prefer Jota Lita.
Re: our recent holiday restaurant review
It is the end of the season though.......
I'm surprised to see lots of people around during the day and that the usual busy restaurants are still quite full.
I Past Happy's last night, L'Orange and A Gale and they all looked reasonably full.
It is such a nice time to be in Carvoeiro

Only If you dont have to earn a living running a bar or restaurant
Re: our recent holiday restaurant review
True, but those of us with seasonal businesses know what to expect in the winter.
