We ate in the evening here twice. Last Saturday and a week ago on Monday evening. We would have eaten last Thursday as well, but contrary to their advertising, the Restaurant is closed on a Thursday.

The food was excellent, and the prices are very reasonable, but it was noticeable that the service was far better on the Saturday when Paulo was present. Monday must be his day off!

As for finding the location, it should not be a problem. From the Estrada do Farol, you can either take a left into Rua do Cerro or take the next left into Rua dos Moinhos. Both Rue do Cerro and Rua dos Moinhos meet at a Mini roundabout at the end of Rua de Areias dos Moinhos. The Restaurant has a Sign and a Menu Board at the entrance to Rua de Areias dos Moinhos.
Follow Rua de Areias dos Moinhos and take the first left. The Restaurant can be seen from the point where you have turned left, on the right hand side of the road.

My sister, brother in law and boys ate there several times in late August and thoroughly enjoyed it. When I saw them on Saturday they explained where it is so will give it a go next week (4 days to go not that I'm counting!).

This is rapidly becoming one of the best restaurants in the area. Always a warm welcome and excellent food at reasonable prices. Check out the wine list too.

We found our way(!) to this restaurant last Wednesday evening and had a lovely meal . Paulo made us feel very welcome, the place was busy but the food excellant. We returned on Saturday for lunch prior to our flight home. Again it was busy with mainly Portuguese diners, which was great to see. We had omelettes but next time we'll have the 9€ menu which everyone else appeared to be having and with about 5 or 6 mains to chose from, looked like great value. Paulo told us he had a party of 55 booked in for that evening

We were there Saturday evening and it was very busy at 6.30pm.
We had a nice meal with good service and was value for money.
They did have a party going on with live music.
Hope it continues to be successful.

After we decided to go back to give this restaurant another try ( we had a poor meal at the beginning of the year). I am sorry but we will not be going back there again. The starter was very good but both main courses were poor - the service was very slow and had to give a sweet and coffee a miss as we had waited so long.

Our party of seven has just returned from lunch here and we all felt the service, food and value were first class. Also had a very good dinner here last week. The chap who I believe is the owner (50 ish, distinguished looking fella) was courtesy personified. Really good experience and we are returning Friday.

The owner is Paulo, until last year his was a part owner at Casa Algarvia (which is now under new ownership) he is very attentive. We were there a couple of weeks ago and had a really good meal. I recommend their Tomato soup which has a poached egg in it - tastes wonderful.

Yes, I thought I recognised him. Bit of a Terence Stamp lookalike I thought.

Having just returned to the UK after a month in Carvoeiro we used this restaurant 4 times and enjoyed the food and service every time.
Paulo and Alfonso are excellent hosts and really succeed in making you feel welcome and at home. When they were running Casa Algarvia
in the town that was one of our favourites and now Ponto de Encontro continues in the same vein.

Great meal here on Friday evening. Its good to see Paulo succeeding in a restaurant that has had difficulties in the past.
Good mix of clients and superb food!!
