O Tasco

Post by jantje »

My partner had a steak there. She asked for it rare but it was like shoe leather when it arrived. She was then repeatedly ill during the night. The waiter was apologetic when she complained but the damage was done so just a warning.

By the way, my son & i shared a cataplana which was excellent so its a matter of choice or chance i guess.

We hadn't eaten at O Tasco before in our many years of coming to CVO, but decided to give it a try this time. In fact we were so impressed that we ate there 3 times in our 3 week stay. Lovely friendly Portuguese waitress with very good English, splendid cover with both fresh bread and French toast, plus olives and a dish of very tasty home made mayonnaise with tuna. Couldn't fault the main course fish or meat dishes, and twice I had the "special" wild boar stew, absolutely delicious, with sauted potato and fried bread, which worked very well.
Cover, wine, water, soup, main course and coffee average 18 euros a head. Great value.

We agree with the last poster, we have taken friends and guests there ( always a risk ) and have not been let down.

A few years ago O Tasco had an obnoxious guy that stood out in front and tried to lure you inside. We used to avoid him by changing sides of the street. Needless to say we would never go there even though he moved to another restaurant up the hill.
