Medina

Post by SJ & RE »

Sounds great now that ELA & ELA have it and reviews seem positive.
However, I would like to know what happened to the previous managers of Medina, did not realise they had left, everyone more or less said it was pretty good in there. Did the reccession hit, have they moved elsewhere etc etc. He often posted on this site. Yep being nosey but so are all of us Please not rumours but real truth would be pleasant for a change.

We know the owner and he told us in October he was coming back in March so not really sure, he has a Villa near us so sure we will see him around.

I agree Baggy, it would be nice to know the truth of what has happened. Obviously some deal has been struck for Kim from Ele&Ela to go public with the information about a takeover.

I personally always sadly believed that it was a case of when , not if, in its current state Medina would be unable to carry on.
Part of the problem was location, and absence of passing trade. I am very curious as to how Kim will overcome that one as well.

If PJ has come out of Medina, then I hope he has done so relatively unscathed. I also wish Kimmy bon chance

Following 2 successful years in Carvoeiro it was always our intention to continue and reopen this year, however, personal circumstances changed and another opportunity arose that meant spending more time in the UK. Timing was good as Kim and Harald were looking for premises for a new venture of their own.

We wish all our customers well and hope that Kim and Harald experience further success. We are, already, looking forward to our next trip...

I ate in the place when it was Mitch's and always thought the building had great potential if the right people could put their stamp on it...look forward to seeing what develops.

Sorry to see that Medina has closed as it was on our list for this year
We had friends who ate there last year and thought the food and service were acceptable.

They thought and we have found this with other ethnic restaraunts in CVO that they were playing safe with flavours and spices.
We always have to ask for extra spicy or additional chili and we are not Vindaloo adicts.

Claudio at Ele & Ela said that Kim and Harald's intention at Medina was to concentrate on "finger food". Understand that it will need to different to Ele & Ela's, but not sure exactly what we might get to eat. Maybe Kimmy can elaborate.

Yes Barry, it will be fingerfood as in ' tapas' but with an international cuisine. So instead of eating starter, maincourse you will have the choice out of a range of small dishes. So you can ´taste' different things and will maybe have 4 or 5 dishes together with the possibility of ordering fine wines by the glass!
Hope this clears a bit

Sounds great Kimmy. Real tapas unlike the tapas restaurant in the square where you seem
able to have only 'full plates' and nothing interesting to share

Bring on the Patato Bravas!

Good Luck, can't wait to try it.
