Hi Gerry,

Yes the rentals have slowed quite a bit this year when compared to the previous two years. May is particurlaly slow.Let's hope that an upturn is on its way.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the replies and comments, much appreciated.

Gerry

PS, Steen I wasn't trying to bypass the villa rental section, it was just a general query.

Hi Gerry,
no problem :)
If you want the phone number of the real estate agency advertising the apartment above our shop I can probably convince one of the girls to step outside and get the number?
How did the car rental work out?

Hi steen,
thanks for the offer but i,m afraid i only have four words of portugese, thanks, sorry, hello and good morning, two of those i,m not to sure of.Being of an island race some of us have real problems with languages.Gorden and sandy said they would have a quick scout around while they,ar there.I really only need to get a rough idea of price at this stage to see if its a goer.
I didn,t realise you had the ice cream shop as well as the car rental begod, here in ireland you,d be known as whats called a"cute hoor" :P .
As regards the car rental,it was spot on,a fine big car hassle free pick up and drop off and all for 130euro,no kiddin, where would you get the like of it
By the way our nextdoor neighbours Rolf and Samantha van lunzen said to say hi,small world isn,t it.

Hi Gerry, in answer to the original question everyone we know has said the same, bookings are way lower than last year does'nt seem to matter where you advertise, we have very few bookings this year (4 bed house) just seems to be passing trade

A lot of people seem to think football or poss hooligans may be about? but CVO I think is too far away for this to matter as there is maybe 30000 fans and plenty of space between CVO and the stadium I can't see why!

Flight Prices

Post by rlhvillas »

The low cost airlines all seem to have put their prices up trying to cash in on the football so any 'genuine' holiday makers looking for a late bargain are going elsewhere. :? Hopefully the footy fans will have such a good time on the Algarve that they will all come bcak later in the year or next year with family and friends. 8)

Sorry, but that's a not very well thought out reply to this question. You can still get low cost (just checked) on numerous dates during the Euro for about £101 via Gatwick. It also does not address the issue of low bookings this summer, only highlights 3 weeks of it. My personal feeling is that there will be a bit of a rush towards the end of the month when it's clear that the UK will not repeat last years summer! It would also be nice if you could personalise youer emails rather than use your company name. Mike

Dear 'Guest - Mike' Many apologies, sorry for not thinking enough for you!! I thought this forum was for people to express their opinions - not have them rubbished by deep thinking individuals. By the way I don't have a company and I will use whatever login name I choose
