Car Body repairs

Post by maccasa »

Just in case anyone has a minor whoopsie, I found a local man who does excellent car body repairs. Someone had put a deep scratch from passenger door to back on my Espace - got several quotes around 500-650. The man at AUTO CARCHAPAS quoted 300 and did a great job, even fixed my drivers door closing so now "just like a golf" without me mentioning it - he is on the small "by-pass road" to Faro near the Fatacil. Turn right at the new ALDI roundabout, then right again towards fatacil - the place is 50m on the left.

It is always worth getting several quotes on this type of work. I, and many of my friends, have been using Manuel Pinheiro at FanelGarbe in Mexilhoeira de Carregaçao for many years and he does both body work and servicing at local portuguese prices i.e. far lower than the rich ex-pat prices quoted here.
He can be contacted on 964 083 707 or at www.fanelgarbe.pt to get directions.
Mention that I (Roy) have recommended you for top class service - and it gets me a few 'brownie points' with him

I did go to this place - (I launch my pedolo from there) - but he was closed - it was around 2 so maybe at lunch. However Carlos at Auto Carchapas is closer than him so that helped - even caught the EVA bus to go and collect it :D . I need some steering bushes replaced so intend to go to him and get a quote - then I can launch, take the car, go fishing and come back and collect it!

I do know that Manuel has been ill recently so it is probably best to phone before setting off.

Great recommendation, Maccasa.

I managed to cause quite deep scratches to my car in 3 places within a week, recently. Based on your recommendation, I visited Carlos at Carchapas and despite experiencing some doubts when first seeing Carlos' fairly run down site, I gave him the job.

I expected a quote of over 1000 Euros, and was astounded at his quote of 200 euros.

He delivered the car to my villa this afternoon. The job he did was outstanding.

I would thoroughly recommend him.

Many thanks,

Andara :D :D :D :D :D

Yes his establishment is hardly "modern" but his results are excellent. Glad you had a good experience

Had a dent in our new car done in Aldi car park by some white car who also left his paint work scraped on our door panel. This garage did great repair job job very reasonable at Euro 95. You wouldn't know it had been dented, we really cannot see where the dent was.

Having found the endorsements of Carlos of Auto Carchapas for car body repair work on the Carvoeiro site, just wanted to confirm what an excellent job he does and at incredibly reasonable prices. :D
