Curtains

Post by ceh »

I need to get new curtains throughout the villa. I previously had some very helpful replies to my post about possible sources of curtains and blinds but having though about the costs, I may go for those available from Conforama, Leroy Merlin or similar. My problem is that they seem to be in a standard drop of 250/260 and I only want 200. Can anyone suggest someone who might be able to turn up 5 pairs of curtains as I can't face doing it myself by hand

You should try Eilsh the shop workshop underneath the post office she is very good at making and altering curtains etc.The access is downstairs from the pavement. Regards Duncan

You could always buy the iron on stuff (I think it is called Bondaweb). I used it on a lot of my curtains 2 years ago and so far so good, no drops, it is still going strong and you can still wash or dry clean the curtains (up to 60 degrees). Plus it is not expensive. I think I paid about £2 per metre.

You should try King of Fabrics, Dean, by the side of the Cepsa garage.
He has a wide chose of materials that can be made to the required sizes,
and very reasonable prices.

Dean from King of Fabrics next door from the petrol station on the CVO in- road. Dean did curtains and cushions for our apartment in CVO, curtains for our cottage in Dorset and our house in Holland (he shipped over to us). All I can say is good service, and damn good quality. :D :D

We bought all our curtains cheaply in Uk. The problem is the header tapes rot in the sun. We had two long pairs of lined voile curtains reheader taped by the shop under the post office. Excellent service, cost 25 euros a pair, but cheaper and easier than buying new.
