Frijj Milk

Post by Graham »

I hope someone can help - I am bringing over a young girl later this year for a holiday, but unfortunately she suffers from Cerebral Palsy - as such her diet is quite restricted and the best thing for her is apparently Frijj - a sort of thickened milk - does anyone know if it is available in or around CVO so that I do not have to lug a coolbox full of the stuff over with me?

Any help gratefuly appreciated

Graham

 Hi, I don't know if it will be of any help, but I am off to cvo next Tuesday for three days, I can look in the supermarkets for you and ask about this milk.

If anyone out there has any ideas then please feel free to help.

Just thought I could look if no one else came up with anything

Thanks very much both of you - can't find it on the continente web site (but it is astonishingly good for seeing how good your Portuguese is - I could sit and practice translations for hours)

Lesley Jean - that is a very kind offer - I would be most grateful for any info unless someone else comes up with anything. As always the help from this website is fantastic

 Morning Graham, I am sorry to have taken so long in coming back to you, since I got back from Portugal I have had a very sore throat and a bad cold and really havn't wanted to do anything much, still no excuse.

I looked in Modelo in Silves and Intermache in cvo but couldn't find Frijj milk anywhere, a friend who lives just outside Silves also asked in the local supermarkets but to no avail. So sorry I couldn't come up with anything for you.

There is a supermarket near Almansil on the N125, can't remember the name but it has come up on the site before. They sell lots of English, German, Dutch foods, so they might be able to help.

If someone could let Graham know the name it would be helpful.

Sorry I couldn't be of much help.

I think the one in Almancil you're thinking of is Apollonia.

But I don't know about this milk availability.

Lesley Jean - thanks so much for your efforts. I have emailed Dairy Crest (who make the stuff) and asked them if it is available in Portugal, so fingers crossed for a reply.

I will post if/when I get an answer

Thanks again

I'll be watching this post carefully...I had an addiction to those friji milkshakes when I was in the UK. I've been sitting here thinking of what to eat (hungry) and I just know now that I'd love Friji...(not that it agrees with me, but it's tasty),

Good luck in your quest. :)

Amazingly, had a reply already from Dairy Crest. Unfortunately, frijj is not available in Portugal (sorry, NP) - but they are sending my little friend a Frijj cool bag to help us take a load out with us.

10/10 to Dairy Crest customer relations (and thanks again Lesley Jean)
