Hi Geoff, yes you can access iPlayer, itv X, etc, but only via a suitable VPN.
Basically you have a VPN app on the fire stick, and connect to a UK IP address.
Windscribe do a free version, which is limited to 10gb, if you want to try it out, although their subscription is a little expensive.
I use Private VPN, which works quite well.
Ask about to find out what works, As some are blocked by UK TV companies.
Also you need adequate internet speed, 10mb is usually enough.

Thanks Colin....I got it assuming I could get live UK TV on it in uk , but it only really does streaming services, not really of inteterest, so have sent it back now anyway.
Just wondering if I could pick up iplayer on laptop znd connect that to TV? Our speeds are fast enough. Can test it out on Saturday anyway.
When are you out?
Geoff

It is possible to watch iPlayer on a laptop and connect to a TV.
You can use a smart phone and link to a smart TV, or a non smart TV using a Google Chromecast. What ever method you use you still need a suitable VPN to access the UK players from outside of the UK
Firestick is easier and better, IMO.
Hope to be be out before the end of February. Will you still be there?
