I received a post (in Portuguese) from a Facebook friend. On translation it appears to suggest that the authorities have (or are about to) abolish the toll system on the A22. Can anyone confirm this?
The post seems to indicate that the council of Olhao has announced this news.

Did it quote this article dated April 1st?

I will have to check again Richard. Seems a strange subject for a hoax, as it's not as daft s some April 1st stories.

If you read the comments on your link there is a comment from the original author of the postal.pt spoof confirming that it's a misleadingly re-worked April Fool.

Yes - now I see the comments about 1 Abril. The original post to my Facebook page didn't include those comments, so it looked quite genuine.
Damn! I thought they had seen sense at last. Oh! well - back to watching the transponder!
