Hi all
Be gentle with my first post...
We are flying out this weekend to spend a week in lovely Carvoeiro and have a couple of queries if anyone would like to help us?
1) Will the outside pool at the hotel be warm given recent good weather?
2)Can anyone recommend a couple of good restaurants near the center of town that serves good food and half/small portions for oldies?
3)wheres the best reasonably priced steak and chips to be had in the Carvoeiro area?
Thanks in advance...

you don't say which hotel you are staying at ,you will be hard pressed to find a bad restaurant in cvo as they are all good. look on the restaurant review site you will get a good idea of the best places, enjoy your hols and welcome to the forum

My wife swam in an outdoor pool third week in April near CVO. Several other guests also braved the pool!!!

W.S. coming from North of the Border, the Atlantic would feel warm to you.
Try the toe test, push your partner in, if toes turn blue, it's too cold.
Top of restaurant hill, left hand side,"A Rede", good portions, reasonable prices and the staff can be quite entertaining.
Enjoy the sunshine and relax.

Outdoor pool will be chittery, even for the brave Scottish! There's a heated one in Carvoeiro Sol I think you can pay to use. (At the side of the 'square').

hi,
we've been swimming for 3 weeks, its cold when you first get in , but after 10 seconds lovely, better if the pool is in a sunny, not windy position.
Casa Algarvia does a really nice steak, but so do many other restaurants - it is hard to find a really bad one here.
The Portuguese are lovely - if you want to share a meal , and they can be huge here , just order one and ask for a plate to share - unlike the UK where they'd probably set the dogs on you, the people here will smile, bring you a spare plate and not think twice about it.
Have a nice holiday
