I have the map with all the lovely pictures from the airport to CVO, but now a number of people may want to avoid the A22 I wonder if there is a ready made map on the forum I can use using the EN125. Thanks.

Hi LICY,

Easiest way is to go onto GOOGLE maps and select "No Tolls" option when asking for directions - options as per picture below:

You can then print out the the details (print icon, top left next to "My Places" tab) or zoom in, or use the satellite option (top left) to see actual details.

Thanks HR, yes driving instructions. Will have to see if I can get this up at home. Everytime I put in Carvoeiro it does not recognise it, but you never know.

Licy get in the car on the drivers side, put the key in the ignition and turn it on, make sure you've shut the door, grab hold of that wheel thing and the put your foot on that little pedal on the floor, press it and steer with the wheel, simps! I do it all the time.

If you scroll down on the picture I posted, you see the start of them are there on the left hand side. If you do it for real on GOOGLE, you can then print them out.

It's pretty easy but not as straight forward as suggested. As long as you keep you eyes open for the road signs it's not a problem.

Why would one spend a few hundred pounds on flights and car hire, and then look for a slow traffic jammed route to CVO just to avoid a clear empty Motorway and a €3.00 fee that is very easy to pay at the Post Office ?

Not sure why you say about saving 3 euros. Our car hire charges €20 if we use the tolls. The only time we would use them is to and from the airport. We do not travel peak times and the N125 is slightly longer time wise, but nothing much. We have worked it out ourselves when travelling, however telling someone else that route is another thing. As for paying hundreds on flights and car hire, no way, that's why we have lots of trips. You may call it penny pinching, but we call it saving for an early retirement.

Thanks Pato for your suggestion. yes you do do it all the time. how are those hire cars going since we last got together? However Mr LICY is the driver in foreign lands while I can complain he has taken no notice of me when I tell him what way to turn.
