Police in Poço Partido

Little bit scared this morning while driving passed the infamous Poço Partido area due to the ridiculous amount of police there (PSP and GNR). Wondered what the gangs had done this time to finally get the police involved. At lunch time saw the story on portuguese news, it seems they had the complex surrounded for hours waiting to arrest a group of saught after thiefs, although getting a few, they didn't catch the "most wanted thief in the Algarve" (just 19!). Unfortunately can't find the story online yet so not got any further details. Has anyone else heard about this?

See also my post below. I was told by a friend at lunchtime that there had been a theft last night of electricity cable from a new very large house being built near me for a Dutch multi millionaire and that the police raid was in connection with this.

Yes - I saw this when i went past! Police with guns and large video cameras - all dressed in black with their faces covered (or appeared to be) - had wondered what was happening!
