Has anybody had any recent dealings with Newteq Solutions (Russell Newton) - he appears to have disappeared off the face of the earth :o

Steve

I did see that - but marketing himself as a Certified Mac Technician and a Certified Support Professional on his website http://www.newteqsolutions.com - and not responding to calls/mails is not quite what Steve Jobs had in mind when he 'authorised' him to represent his company in The Algarve.

I have done business with him over the past 12 months and attended a seminar (well attended) he ran at Penina back in the Summer - all very good and professionally managed - but his recent 'disappearing act' is a total mystery :o

I don't know why I didn't do it before but I have just checked the Apple website and entered his details - only to be told that the company is not a recognised Apple/Mac anything. I seem to remember him telling me had attended some courses to get his accreditation but I guess that was as far as it went. Putting their name above the door would demand more than a few courses and certainly a lot of money for the appropriate licenses would be a pre-requisite.

I suspect the far reaching brand police at Apple have found him and told him to discontinue his unauthorised representation/association with them or face the consequences. They are not averse to suing even the biggest organisations so a little operation here in Lagoa would certainly not phase them.

Great shame as he is/was such a personable guy.

Not "off the face of the earth", just off the face of Algarve for a while :)

I'm back now, all phone calls getting returned, emails replied to and website updated. Got several more "professionally managed" and exciting seminars coming soon. Will be sure to send out invitations.

Still the same "personable guy" (thanks for the compliment Tony). And still got a healthy relationship with Apple - both the technical and legal departments

Please see my "about" page for a full explanation of my Apple Certifications:

Thanks for showing interest. Look forward to seeing you next week.

Russell

It's good to see you back in circulation and having corresponded with you separately I genuinely hope you get back to where you left off all those months ago.

Unable to find anyone in the Algarve that would do this work.

Yes. I repair iPhones 4s. And 3G/3GS while we're at it. I have a replacement iPhone 4 screen in stock right now so if we make an appointment for early next week I can do you a fast turnaround.
