Help

Post by Low Light »

We are going to Carvoeiro next month, and this may seem a strange request, but one of our party has a selective eating disorder and prefers to eat chips (and only chips) as a main course.

Can anyone suggest any restaurants that will cater for this? Is this likely to be a problem for us?

Thanks.

Hi -don't think it will be a problem - most restaurants will serve a portion of chips without question.

Can't see that this would be a problem, it's hardly a culinary challenge is it? And I would have thought if the rest of you are ordering normally they'd just be pleased to have your custom. BTW what does he/she have for starter & pudding? :D

Thanks for the replies.

We have had problems in the past with some restaurants refusing to serve chips as a main course, even though she may have a starter or more likely a pudding just as normal. :x

One more thing, I last visited Carvoerio 3 years ago. I remember visiting an Italian Restaurant a couple of times, but can't remember the name. Must have been the wine!

I remember it being out of the centre and was run/owned by people who originally came from the Isle of Man. They flew a Manx flag next to an Italian flag outside the restaurant.

Anybody know it?

Thanks.

One of our guests last year ( 6 going on 86 ) wanted plain pasta with cucumber time after time and we had no problems anywhere we ate.
However he did regard uncle Terrys dinner as his by right as well.
But should we give in to threats from these terrorists are we not losing the moral high ground.

I think the Italian you were asking about might be Mona Lisa just outside the village going up towards Rocha Brava.

With out doubts the best for chips in Carvoeiro is the restaurant A Gale on restaurant hill.
Big portions and excellent.
The rest of their food is pretty good as well. Certainly one of the best on restaurant hill.

Thanks, we shall try that out.

Really looking forward to going now. Mona Lisa was the Italian I was thinking of. It had probably the best garlic bread I have had. Hope it is still as good.

Thanks
