where to now for the thirsty golfer
Sad to hear that the Irish Times has closed its doors although rumours were rife when our group was there in Oct 2012 that this was going to happen. This has left me with a tricky problem as to where to park 12 weary bodies after wandering round some of Algraves finest courses looking to be revived by cool glasses of beer and baskets of chips and plates of homemade burgers etc.
Anyone who can recommend a hostelry near the square which can accommodate our requirement will be forever in our debt.

We are just up the road from the Irish Times and would be more than happy to accommodate you and your weary golfers! We are open from 5pm Tues to Sat and from midday on Sun. However, if your round of golf finishes before that, then we would be more than happy to open up early for you. Just let us know

But if the 12 weary golfers are looking to plonk themselves down and be waited on, then I would say they could do no better than MaJas. Mark and Jan will papmer to their every whim. Well almost

This is quite an old post now, so we don't know if the 12 weary wedge wranglers have been and gone. If they have, I hope they found a suitable watering hole. If not, I still reckon that MaJa's is a good bet for them. The cold beer will be in front of them before they've managed to sit down.

Cumbria Sue, I think if you knew how people that worked in some of these bars in the last fews years were treated, take my word for it, you would agree with some of my comments. I just wish I could put on this forum the truth.

Does that mean you have been posting lies so far? I did wonder!I just wish I could put on this forum the truth.
Re: where to now for the thirsty golfer
I was a fan of the Bistro, but after I found out how they treated the staff there, I will not be going there again, they would not get away with that in the UK, she will not even give them contracts, so its easier to sack them when it suits her.
