Southend Airport
Re: Southend Airport
Okay Richard Henshall, perhaps some tought about who reads these posts before we start to make some general idiotic comments about your Norfolk ability,
And Bruce, Wroxham isn't great and certainly not full of great people unless you love your own! At least we are fun people in Essex.

I read your post 3 times....and still dont know what you are going on about!! Maybe you should read what you have written, before posting??tjthedj wrote:Okay Richard Henshall, perhaps some tought about who reads these posts before we start to make some general idiotic comments about your Norfolk ability,

You certainly seem to have missed the point.
OK....there was a mild joke about Essex.....but we are talking about regional airports, and how south Essex and the Thames gateway, will be now served by its own airport, to the detriment of north Essex and east Anglia
Re: Southend Airport
There were a few confused passengers at the airport yesterday morning as the public announcer kept referring to " Southend " NOT
Sarfend as we used to call it.
Spent many "aarhss" as a child on the pier having arrived on one of the excusion boats that used to leave from tower pier.
The new passenger drop off area also seems to be confusing a few with the GNR making sure that drivers do not take too long to say their good byes etc.

You're dead right there Bruce. I missed the mild joke about Essex which makes me realise that perhaps we aren't the fun people I thought we were Essex

Ahhhh....therein appears to lie the challenge, Widge....based on the evidence of tjthedj's efforts, there appears to be no challenge to rise towidge wrote:Hilarious !!!!!!!!!!!!!!tjthedj wrote:Okay Richard Henshall, perhaps some tought about who reads these posts before we start to make some general idiotic comments about your Norfolk ability,

As an avid spectator to the Carvoeiro Forum, although irregular contributor, it amuses me how often a quite innocent subject can degenerate into a bit of a slanging match, and having started this thread I feel honour bound to carry it on! Having lived in Norfolk for 11 years I count myself as an honorary Norfolk "broad" (although originally a Shropshire lass), who sadly has never experienced the delights of Essex. However all that is going to be put right in the early hours of Sunday 27 May when we enter the county en route to the airport (do we need a visa?). I hope it gets light early enough that we can appreciate the countryside and that we don't have too many language problems at the airport. Of course had I been sensible I would have invested in a box set of "Made in Essex" to get in the groove, and will I need to wear my 5" stilletos?
Over to you, chaps.

Re: Southend Airport
I'm saying nothing. By the way, NFN = Not From Norfolk, not what you probably thought.
